hundreds of young people
WILL EXPERIENCE subsea expo
Foresea your future
ForeSEA Your Future event brings a new approach to the now traditional STEM day for pupils at Subsea Expo, with opportunities for college and university students as well.
Upon arrival at Subsea Expo pupils will be welcomed to the event before taking part in STEM activities and a tour of the exhibition arena. Taking place upstairs from the exhibition arena will be a series of STEM Showcases where students can get hands on with a range of exciting technologies, immerse themselves in our environment through VR, and interact with scaled down models of real underwater kit.
Included in the STEM Showcase series will be a submarine walk-through from the defence sector, which will provide enthusiastic role models to engage young people to excite them about the diverse, innovative and interesting career possibilities within the ocean economy.
Students will also meet Gessmann, who make gaming operator control chairs and demonstrate subsea technology in a fun and engaging way, as well as OPITO and their virtual reality game, Energy Island.
Mintlaw's ROV STEM Club will showcase what they have built and how STEM fits into their curriculum, and also discuss their career aspirations beyond school.
The ForeSEA Your Future event gives senior pupils who have an interest in the energy sector the opportunity to interact with global companies.
Students will be touring the exhibition space to find out more about the underwater industry, and will have the opportunity to have informal conversations with a range of young professionals who will be sharing their routes into industry and describing the roles available.
For college and university students the programme offers an excellent opportunity to hear first-hand from young professionals working in the industry and how their careers have progressed.
